"We want to express our thanks for all the love and concern you showed our sister during her long illness. She often told us what a comfort you were to her."
~Van & Marjorie Blossom - Orem
Here at Utah Hospice Specialists three key principles guide our efforts and care. We believe that the three principles make all the difference in the world to you, your caregiver, and your family members. The three principles are: Your Care - our doctors, nurses, social workers and other staff are specialists in Hospice Care; Your Comfort - we listen to you and respond honestly and respectfully; Your Peace - we help you reconcile the significance of your experiences, and we reverence your life and cherish our opportunity to be a part of it. We know that a sincere focus on these three principles is needed in Hospice today.
We believe that Hospice should be about you and life, past present and future. Hospice is a time for love, care, forgiveness and support among loved ones. We are committed to holding your hand, offering you our shoulder, and lightening your burdens.
We reaffirm that LIFE IS A GIFT; a wonderful gift we are honored to share with you.
We believe strongly in the dignity and value of the human soul. Hospice Specialists' mission is to maximize each patient's quality of life, by delivering the highest quality services, with compassion and respect.
We are focused on maintaining dignity, increasing the quality of life, and providing comfort, including pain and symptom control. We recognize that every person's experience will be different and the hospice team creates a plan of care according to the individual needs and wishes of each patient.
Teamwork is very important to our company. Each person who works for Hospice Specialists has important and necessary skills that help to promote the well-being of each patient and their loved-ones.
Utah Hospice Specialists does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, sex, or age in admission, treatment, or participation in its programs, services and activities, or in employment.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Principles of Your Care
We are a team of experienced, well-trained and compassionate physicians, nurses, counselors and volunteers - "The Hospice Care Team".
We admit patients with a physician's order within 2 hours.
We commit to a visit with the patient from each service with seven days of admission and as often as required to meet the patient's needs.
We coordinate with our patients and their families or caregivers. If the patient lives in a facility we attend team meetings and notify staff of our presence.
Principles of Your Comfort
We evaluate symptoms, pain levels and response to treatment on every visit or telephone call.
We listen to our customers and answer all questions honestly and completely.
We teach each individual what to expect along the journey.
We respond to our customers' needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Principles of Your Peace
We value life as a gift and reverence the life experiences you cherish.
We will talk about what is real and important to you.
We help you find meaning and order to life: this is a time of forgiveness, support, love, and caring among loved ones.
We consider it an honor and privilege to serve you and your family.
